Holidays
have always been a much-awaited event in our kids' lives. Come to think
of it, even events like a tooth falling off, an accident or injury happening or a
pet passing away deserved all kinds of rites, celebration or ceremony!
Our children have always believed in Santa Claus, the Three Kings, the
Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny and even the Great Pumpkin! I encouraged
this belief too thinking, they would eventually outgrow it. But I was
wrong, our children have made this into a life-long tradition. Their
point is that once they stop believing, then all these great and
magnificent gift-giving creatures would all disappear. So to this day,
until our youngest son ceases shedding his remaining milk teeth, we
have yet to stock up on goodies to put under his pillow. I'm not
complaining, mind you. It is such a thrill seeing our big babies jump
with delight at the sight of every gift they find under their
pillows, inside their stockings, under the Christmas tree, hidden in
the bushes or on their plates!
